Mango Smoothie Bowl

10 min Easy Vegetarian 567 kcal 18.6 g protein

The difference between a smoothie and a smoothie bowl is how much liquid goes in. Here you use as little milk as you can, so it stays thick enough to hold toppings without them sinking. That is why frozen mango matters: fresh mango with ice cubes turns watery, frozen fruit turns creamy.

Tips from RandomRecept
  • Use frozen fruit, that keeps the smoothie thick enough to eat with a spoon.
  • Too thick for the blender? Add a small splash of milk, not too much.
  • Put the bowl in the freezer before you fill it, then everything stays cold longer.

Variations and storing

Frozen banana does the same job and costs less. A spoonful of quark or Greek yoghurt makes it firmer and less sweet. This bowl has to be eaten immediately, after ten minutes it has become an ordinary smoothie. So blend it only once the toppings are lined up.
